Our Approach to Aged Care

Care begins by understanding what makes home feel like home.

Good support should fit into your life—not make your life fit around a service.

We begin with a conversation about the assistance you are looking for, how you prefer things to be done and what helps you feel comfortable. This gives everyone a clearer foundation for discussing the support that may suit your circumstances.

We learn about your everyday life Tell us about your routines, priorities and the areas where assistance may be helpful.
We discuss a practical approach We explain the support available through Blue Lotus Care and answer your questions clearly.
The next step is agreed together Any proposed support is discussed before services begin, subject to suitability and availability.

Family Communication

Support works better when everyone feels heard.

Families can play an important role in care, but the older person’s preferences, comfort and voice remain at the centre.

With the older person’s agreement, Blue Lotus Care can communicate with family members or representatives involved in their support. Our aim is to keep conversations clear, respectful and focused on what will help the person feel comfortable and confident.

The older person remains central

Their routines, preferences and comfort guide every conversation about their support.

Communication stays clear

We aim to explain relevant updates and agreed next steps in straightforward, respectful language.

Decisions are made respectfully

Family involvement is welcomed where appropriate and agreed, without overlooking the person receiving support.

Talk With Our Team Communication respects the person’s consent and preferences.

Aged Care Questions

Questions are a natural part of choosing support.

Here are answers to some of the questions older people and families often ask when considering support at home and in the community.

Have a different question?

Tell us what you would like to understand and our team will respond as clearly as possible.

Ask Our Team
What aged-care services does Blue Lotus Care provide?

Our services may include personal care, household assistance, respite care, transport, shopping assistance, social activities and community access. Physiotherapy and podiatry may also be available. The services we can offer will depend on your needs, location, suitability and current availability.

Can support be provided in my own home?

Yes, many of our services are designed to support older people in the familiarity of their own homes. We begin by learning about your routines, preferences and the areas where assistance may be useful, then discuss what support may be suitable and available.

Which areas do you service?

Blue Lotus Care supports people across Melbourne’s south-east, including Narre Warren and surrounding communities. Because availability can vary by location and the support required, please contact our team with your suburb so we can check whether we currently service your area.

Can a family member be involved in the conversation?

Yes. With the older person’s agreement, family members or representatives can be included in relevant conversations about their support. The older person’s preferences, comfort and voice remain central throughout the process.

What happens during the free Meet & Greet?

It is a relaxed opportunity to learn more about Blue Lotus Care, discuss your circumstances and ask questions. We can also learn about your routines, preferences and what you are hoping to achieve. There is no pressure to proceed simply because you have attended a Meet & Greet.

How quickly can support begin?

Start times depend on the type of assistance required, your location, service suitability and current team availability. Contact us with some basic information and we can discuss the possible next steps with you.

Can I ask for help if I am not sure which service I need?

Absolutely. You do not need to select a service before speaking with us. Tell us about your everyday situation and the areas where some help may be useful. Our team can explain the relevant options and whether we may be able to assist.

How do I find out whether I am eligible for government-funded aged care?

My Aged Care manages access to Australian Government-funded aged-care services. The process generally begins by registering with My Aged Care and completing an aged-care needs assessment. My Aged Care can provide official information about eligibility and the next steps. After your assessment, you can contact Blue Lotus Care to discuss whether suitable services are currently available in your area.
